Just got quoted 9k for a full transmission overhaul – fair or crazy?
My 2015 A6 with the CVT multitronic started shuddering badly during stop and go traffic, and after a quick diagnostic, the shop said the pulley system is worn and I need a complete overhaul rather than just a patch job. They quoted me 9,000 AED for an Abu Dhabi Audi Transmission Overhaul including all seals, steel chains, and a new oil pump, with a one year warranty, but I honestly have no idea if that's reasonable or if I'm being taken for a ride. Has anyone here had a CVT rebuilt recently and can tell me what they paid? The shop seems professional and showed me the damaged parts on camera, but still, nine grand is a lot of money and I want to make sure I'm not overpaying by thousands. Would love to hear from other A6 or A4 owners who've gone through this before I give the green light.
