Just got my first convertible and I'm terrified of washing it wrong
I finally bought a convertible after wanting one for years, but now I'm stressed about how to keep it clean, especially the fabric roof. I know you can't just take it through a regular car wash. I've been looking for information on safe washing techniques for fabric roofs because I want to avoid damaging the material or causing leaks. I found a really helpful guide that explains the whole process step by step, from rinsing off dust first to using special roof cleaners and soft brushes. It also mentioned the importance of drying properly and applying a fabric protectant afterwards to guard against our sun. It's reassuring to have clear instructions. My question for other convertible owners here is, how often do you actually wash the soft top? And do you do it yourself or take it to a professional who specializes in convertibles? I'm trying to decide if I should invest in the right products and do it myself, or just find a trusted detailer from the start. Any advice from experienced owners would be really appreciated.
