Water Crocosmia flower moderately so that the soil is always moist throughout the growing period. Do not overwater the bulbs as too much water may be wasted and cause them to rot. These plants survive brief dry periods when established but watering every day works best with them. When the plants are in bloom during summer, a bit more watering is recommended to ensure the flowers. Cut back the amount of watering during late autumn when the plant will be going into dormancy. Mulching also allows the soil to hold moisture which reduces the amount of watering as well as prevent roots against heat.
