Security, Compliance, and the "Paper Trail"
An RMM is not a vault, even though it may indicate that a patch was applied. Password management, MFA protocols, modification logs, and SOC2-compliant SOPs are all centralized in a structured and auditable manner by a specialized documentation system. Finding a client's emergency contact information or a site's physical security protocol shouldn't be done by searching via an RMM's "notes" section.
Everything That Doesn’t Have a "Heartbeat"
Monitoring devices that are connected into a wall is the responsibility of an RMM. But what about the vital "non-device" data that sustains a company?
• Domain and SSL tracking: Being aware of a URL's expiration date before the website goes offline.
• The Physical World: Wi-Fi credentials, wiring schematics, and office floorplans.
• The Human Element: Licensing agreements, vendor contracts, and the "who's who" of a client's company.
Your RMM tools and PSA software are ultimately designed for action. Your documentation is designed to be comprehensible. To manage a developed, scalable IT company, you need both.
