How many sessions do I need, and how often should I have them?
There is no cure for Melasma, and it takes time to lighten melasma with laser therapy. You will see a more prominent lightening of melasma usually after 6-8 sessions, and the interval between each treatment has to be at least 1 week apart following our own protocol.
Is there any downtime after this procedure?
There is no downtime, redness, or pain associated with this laser therapy alone. However, I recommend using sunblock SPF 50 and applying more moisturizer, as laser therapy can cause dryness to the skin.
Are there any side effects?
When done correctly and safely, there are usually no side effects like blisters, rebound hyperpigmentation, or white spots (hypopigmentation).
