I’m looking into hiring a professional book writer for a project and wanted to hear from people who have actually worked with one.
There are plenty of professional book writers for hire online, but I think the biggest challenge is finding someone who can understand your idea and turn it into a book that still feels authentic to your voice. Writing ability is obviously important, but communication, reliability, experience with the specific genre, and willingness to understand the author’s vision seem just as important.
For those who have hired a professional book writer, what did you look for before making your decision? Did you review previous books, ask for writing samples, conduct an interview, or start with a smaller project first?
I’d also be interested in hearing about your experience with pricing, deadlines, revisions, and communication during the writing process. Any advice on red flags to watch out for would be helpful as well.
