Is influencer culture basically reality TV now?

Scrolling TikTok or Instagram feels like watching a low-budget reality show. Public breakups, fake beef, crying videos, and sudden “exposés.” A lot of it feels staged—but it still works.

 

I came across some great writing about this transformation on Big Write Hook and a lot of wild examples on Influencers Gone Wild. Do people even care if it’s fake anymore, or is entertainment the only goal now?
