Best Way to Keep Loose Leaf Tea and Coffee Beans Fresh? Tried Mylar Bags?

Hi tea and coffee lovers,

Lately, I’ve been buying more organic loose-leaf teas and specialty coffee beans in bulk, but I’m struggling to keep everything fresh after opening the original packaging. Glass jars look great, but they let in too much light, and ziplock bags just don’t seal tight enough.

I recently came across resealable Mylar bags as a potential solution. They’re apparently moisture-resistant, airtight, and can block out light, which is ideal for preserving flavor and aroma. I found a great variety here Custom Mylar Bags — they come in different sizes and finishes, including foil-lined and matte options, which are also great for organizing blends.

Has anyone here used Mylar bags to store tea, coffee, or herbal blends? I’d love to hear if it made a difference in freshness and shelf life.

Thanks in advance — always looking to learn from fellow brew fans!
