Arc Raiders A Lay of the Land: Walkthrough
Quote from coupleslv on January 16, 2026, 2:16 pmIn order to get a Lay of the Land, you must first find the Spaceport scanners and buy arc raiders weapons.
A Lay of the Land in Arc Raiders has you find a LiDAR scanning device. It's a two-step process: First, locate the shipping documents to see where the scanners were sent. Next, use the clues in the shipping notes in the mission to find the scanners. Spaceport is a difficult map in Arc Raiders because of its long sightlines. Players and robots are more likely to notice you. Let me walk you through the steps so that you can get where you're going.

Lay of the Land is divided into three steps on the Spaceport maps, but both must be completed and extracted in a single play.
The Shipping Notes are located in the Jiangsu Warehouse. Once you get there, you should go to the second level on the Northwest side, which is an office with a view of the warehouse. On the desk, there should be an option that says "collect note".
This high loot zone is southeast of Launch Towers. Enter on the east-side of the tower with the statue. On the next floor, follow the South side wall until you reach a group of boxes. Then interact with them in order to receive the LiDAR scanning device and add it your inventory.
At this point, you'll need to successfully exit the LiDAR scanning. If you're using a Free Loadout in Arc Raiders then you can just place it in your Safe Pocket.
You might have to sprint over the map if there is not much time or if the warehouse is far away. You'll need to take extra care when you reach Control Tower A6, which has a lot of loot and is likely to attract a lot of players. If you're concerned about violent players, take a look at our Arc Raiders guides, which include helpful advice on how not to get attacked.
Arc Raiders version 1.3 brings a host of new features, including nerfs on the Venator handgun and tweaks to some of the explosive Arc Raiders guns that could easily take down high-level Arc. A few bugs have also been fixed, leaving a popular exploit for entering locked rooms intact (save the Dam Control Tower). There are a few things that remain the same. Assembling a loadout still requires a lot of fiddling, and community members can't agree on whether or not storing the weapons in the correct amount is right.
Following the release of Update 1.3, which dramatically changed the strategies used to take down powerful Arc, the long-simmering debate about the condition of the stash has rekindled. Arc Raiders balance revolves around the cycle of acquiring and spending resources. Giving players a functionally infinite stash or inventory would disrupt this cycle, reduce tension, and enable ridiculous loadouts. It's clear that there's an enormous gap between the space available now and functionally endless. And in this gap, you'll see some passionate debate.
I've been keeping track of the Arc Raiders online community on sites like Discord Reddit YouTube, and feel like stash discussions are divided into two types. How large the stash needs to be, and just how intuitive. The first debate appears to be quite heated. The second seems to have settled pretty comfortably around the position that more intuitive than this.
It would be great to have one-click saved loadouts instead of the tedious process of creating all of these items from different menus. I know I'm certainly not the only one to occasionally rely on a "free loadout" because I simply don't have time to build a proper kit.
I don't see too many people arguing that crafting should be simplified. Would you say, "We'd like more stash room, or higher stacking limits on items?"? Speranza has some strong words.
Downtownklownfrown - a user with the delightfully named name Downtownklownfrown - responded to this post about inventory control by saying, "Even when I craft items I take on raids for the future the value will be lower so I'll actually lose more storage space trying to get items ready to take." One comment, in response to the 1.3 feedback, says that increasing stack sizes is a good idea.
