After Scare from SMU, Clemson Tigers Get Semi-Final Revenge Match vs. Louisville

Chase Hunter scored a gamehigh 21 points and led a late 2nd half comeback as the 3seeded Clemson Tigers narrowly scraped by the 6seeded SMU Mustangs by a score of 5754 in the ACC Tournament Quarterfinals on Thursday night in Charlotte, Clemson game plan was quickly put to the test as Viktor Lakhin got into early and late foul trouble forcing him to the bench. The highprofile matchup between Lakhin and SMU Center Samet Yigitoglu was put aside as both teams struggled to score early on the neutral court. Lakhin was limited to 18 minutes on the evening and his presence was sorely missed on both ends of the court for the Zackery was the only other double figure scorer for the Tigers, dropping points on 4of8 shooting. Ian Schieffelin scored 9 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in a physical matchup with SMU forward Matt Cross where the two went back and forth in the paint all was led in scoring by Cross who scored 13 points on 5of9 shooting but was forced to sit late with foul trouble of his own. Boopie Miller was the only other doublefigure scorer with 10 points after he missed the regular season contest due to Tigers struggled to get their feet under them due to uncharacteristic turnovers. Clemson totaled 1on the night, including 10 in the first half as the Tigers were looking to force the ball into the paint on the fast break which frequently saw bounce passes into traffic that simply didnt reach the target. Chase Hunter and Jaeden Zackery combined for 8 of the teams 1total turnovers on the pulling out a late victory https://www.clemsontigersfansshop.com/283-Josh_Sapp_Jersey, Clemson did not escape unscathed. While taking a swipe at the ball in the first half, Dillon Hunter noticeably reached for his right hand and immediately went to the bench to be looked at and taped up. Hunter returned to the bench in the 2nd half in street clothes with a soft cast on his shooting hand. It has since been confirmed that Dillon Hunter suffered a broken hand and will miss the remainder of the season. This will provide opportunities for Del Jones and Jake Heidbreder to expand their roles in the post season. Chauncey Wiggins also has a chance to make a major the victory https://www.clemsontigersfansshop.com/304-Boston_Miller_Jersey, Clemson will move onto the Tournament SemiFinals where they will get a muchanticipated rematch with the 2seeded Louisville Cardinals who gave the Tigers one of their only two losses in ACC play this season by a score of 7464 at the KFC Yum! Center on January 7th. The Cardinals escaped a scare by the 7seeded Stanford Cardinal thanks to a hectic final second shot by Chucky Hepburn spurred them on to a 7573 is led in scoring by Hepburn who averages 16.4 ppg while also averaging nearly assist per game as well. Fellow backcourt mate Terrence Edwards Jr follows shortly behind with 16.1ppg.A name to watch out for the Cardinals will be JVonne Hadley. While Hadley also averages double figures with 12.1 ppg, Hadley was the driving force in the Louisville victory back in January as he dropped a career high 32 points on 10of12 shooting on the key aspect of the game to watch out for will be Clemsons ball control. Louisville is known for playing a highpressure defense which gave the Tigers trouble in the opening matching. Coming off a game where the Tigers turned the ball over 1times and losing starting guard Dillon Hunter, look for ball control to be an area of emphasis for the Tigers on Friday night. Dillon is highlyvalued for his ability to take care of the basketball. Without him, players like Del Jones will have to show comparable decisionmaking prowess. Lakhin and backcourt mate Ian Schieffelin will need to provide solid high ball screens to ease the pressure on the Clemson guards high in the backcourt for Clemson to feel more comfortable while they seek is ranked 19th in KenPom while Louisville ranks 25th.  https://www.clemsontigersfansshop.com/326-Nolan_Hauser_Jersey
